Christina McRitchie

Career Beginnings

Christina began her beauty career in 1991 where she worked under industry great Michael O’Rooke in his Carlton Hair International salons in California. During this time, she studied the Sassoon system of cutting and built a foundation of superior precision-cutting techniques. Through the years, Christina continued her education and trained with some of the most talented and creative hairdressers in the industry, including Vivienne MacKinder, Tim Hartley, Nick Arojo, Sassoon Academy’s Tracey Sakosits, and Soujourn’s Melissa Stone.

Special Training

Through continued education and training, Christina is able to keep up with the latest trends and keep her skills at their peak. She is certified in Goldwell, Affinage, and Kemon color systems, as well as Hair Botox and SoCap extensions. In preparation of fulfilling her dream of competitive hairdressing, Christina spent time learning from NAHA winners John C. Simpson and Dimitrios Tsioumas. Not only does Christina work on her own skills, but she also trains and mentors the Firefly team and works as Technical Artist for companies like Profound Beauty and Affinage Hair Colour.

Passion in the Beauty World

Christina takes great pride in the level of artistry and technical skill she offers her guests. Her true passion is cutting, whether classic or avant-garde. She strives to provide her guests with an outstanding salon experience and says, "I want my guests to feel totally relaxed while sitting in my chair knowing that we have communicated their needs and desires thoroughly." Besides precision and artistic design cutting, Christina specializes in corrective colouring, Brazilian keratin smoothing, and special occasion hairstyling.

Straight From Christina

"I absolutely love to share knowledge and empower other hairdressers, especially other women. As one of my mentors, Vivienne MacKinder, pointed out, in an industry dominated by women and for women, there are very few women in a position to lead and empower other women. So I have made it my job to help other female hairdressers excel in such a wonderful industry."
